China Developing Super Electromagnet Pulse Bomb To Use In War Against U.S.
    Wed Apr 11 2012 10:06

This is a story from a super guy, Alexander Higgins. He is informed, well spoken and knows his stuff. -Mort

China is gearing up for war against the United States and their top weapon is a super electromagnetic pulse bomb that can blanket the U.S. and send America back to the dark ages in less than one second.
Past reports from Chinese military websites and Asian newspapers have outlined a several attacks that China could launch to win a war against the more technologically and militarily advanced United States.
These strategical attacks, as a MITRE research report reveals, are part of an arsenal known as shashoujian or the assassin's mace.
Demystifying Shashoujian: China's 'Assassin's Mace' Concept
Interestingly, very few modern definitions of shashoujian can be documented. The most comprehensive Chinese military statement about shashoujian―that resembles a formal definition―comes from a PLA Air Force (PLAAF) officer, Senior Colonel Yang Zhibo, who, in 2002, served as a deputy researcher at the PLAAF Command College in the Office for Planning and Management Research. According to Yang, shashoujian can be “weapon systems and equipment” and/or a certain type of “combat method.” In a Kongjun Bao article, he wrote:
Basically, it is whatever the PLA needs to win future local wars under modern high-tech conditions. It includes two aspects: (1) weapon systems and equipment (e.g., hardware); and (2) every type of combat method (e.g., software). Weapons and equipment are the systems needed to deal with the enemy’s electronic warfare and information warfare, and to counter every type of weapon and equipment the enemy can use for firepower attack. [Shashoujian] [c]ombat methods include attacking different types of weapons, such as early warning aircraft, stealth aircraft, and cruise missiles, as well as the combat principles to deal with different situations.
To build a shashoujian, China must first complete a development program. It is a difficult, systematic process and not just one or two advanced weapons. It is something that all the services will use. It is an all-army, all-location, composite land, sea, and air system. It must also be a Chinese program that can use advanced foreign technology, but should not be purchased as a full system from abroad. One reason for not purchasing it from abroad is that these types of technology and tactics are common knowledge to everyone else, including the enemy. Second, other countries may not want to give China those types of technology and tactics, which are secret. Third, during wartime, political and foreign affairs (diplomacy) could possibly cut the flow of technology off from China In developing new combat methods research, combat methods constitute the full development of weapons and equipment technical and tactical capabilities, and the effective methods of raising combat effectiveness. The development of weapons, equipment, combat methods, and training must go hand-in-hand for them to be effective. more

FBI arrests man in New York Federal Reserve bomb plot

A Bangladeshi man who travelled to New York hoping to commit a terrorist attack so severe it would halt the US election was arrested after allegedly trying and failing to detonate a 1,000lb car bomb outside the Federal Reserve.

Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis, 21, parked a van full of what he thought were explosives outside the Federal Reserve Bank in downtown Manhattan on Wednesday morning before recording a martyrdom video and then attempting to detonate the 'bomb’, according to an FBI charge sheet.

But he was arrested by undercover FBI agents whom he had plotted the attack with via Facebook believing they were al-Qaeda leaders.

Had the plot been enacted it would have been the most devastating terror attack on US soil since the September 11 attacks 11 years ago. It is the 15th plot foiled in New York since the World Trade Centre attack, according to the NYPD.

As Nafis appeared in a Brooklyn court last night, the FBI revealed that he had hoped his attack, so close to next month’s Presidential election, would disrupt the campaign, telling undercover agents: “You know what, this election might even stop.”

Agents told how Nafis had written about how he wanted to “destroy America” and spoke about the “beloved Sheikh Osama bin Laden” in an article he hoped would be published after the attack.

WW3 EMP Attack Imminent: US/NATO/SYRIA/IRAN/ISRAEL To Get It On!
    Thursday, October 18, 2012 12:10

    http://bobpowell.blogspot.com/
In part two of the Season Three Premiere of The Truth Is Viral, I piece together news coming from all over the world that point to one event in the immediate future of the United States: An attack on the US with an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) weapon.
The Iranian government knows that it can not stand toe-to-toe with the United States. The only hope they have of defeating the “Great Satan” is to strike us at our most vulnerable point, our Achilles heel if you will; our electronic infrastructure.
When an EMP nuclear weapon explodes at height (200-300 miles), every circuit board within the line of sight of the weapon will overload and fry. In a matter of seconds, the US would effectively be sent back in time to the 1800′s, without the infrastructure to support 311 Million people. Experts say that up to 90% of the population of the United States could die as a result.

Israel abandons plans for imminent Iran attack

Israel has abandoned plans for an imminent attack on Iran's nuclear facilities after new intelligence said Tehran had diverted part of its uranium stockpile to a medical research reactor.

Defence officials told Israel's Haaretz newspaper that Israeli intelligence had gathered evidence that Iran had used part of its enriched uranium stockpile.

The quantity of material involved was enough to delay efforts to produce a nuclear weapon by eight months.

The Israeli conclusions support findings from the International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) that half of Iran's 20 per cent enriched uranium had been diverted to produce power rods for a reactor developing isotopes to treat cancer.

Iranian officials have attempted to portray the transfer of the material as a gesture to address the concerns of its critics. While the Israeli leadership remains convinced it is engaged in an urgent race to prevent the Islamic Republic from gaining a nuclear bomb, it has indicated that it cannot launch an attack as diplomats examine evidence that international sanctions could yet curtail the programme.

Benjamin Netanyahu's defiant address to the United Nations General Assembly at the end of September has been seen in Iran – and elsewhere – as something of a climb down.

In an interview with the German magazine Der Spiegel, Ali Akbar Salehi, the foreign minister, said Israel was deterred by the knowledge that aggression would come at a "high price".
"If the Israelis had wanted to attack us, and if they could have done so, they would have done so long ago," he said.
The Israeli prime minister, who had previously dismissed as absurd any suggestion that Iran was pursuing its nuclear programme for civilian ends, accepted the IAEA's findings.
But close aides said that a deadline of early 2013 must loom for Iranian co-operation with international diplomacy.
"We remain very, very concerned by Iran's enrichment of uranium, which is continuing at unprecedented levels," an anonymous Israeli official from within the prime minister's camp said.
While Iran has repeatedly insisted that its is developing its nuclear programme for peaceful purposes, it has refused to grant international requests to delay its uranium enrichment or grant IAEA officials access to all of its nuclear development facilities.
Washington has so far preferred economic and political sanctions over military threats but according to a former US official, a joint military operation with Israel was still on the table.
Writing in Foreign Policy magazine, David Rothkopf said plans for a series of 'surgical strikes' on Iran's nuclear facilities had been drawn up.
The only point of disagreement, according to Rothkopf, is the "red line" that would trigger this military response.

With all the uproar over Iran’s nuclear weapons program, reckless speculation on attacks and the latest Iranian cyberthreat, does anyone care that Iran just brought up to full power the only commercial nuclear energy reactor in the Middle East? Of the kind you can’t really make weapons from?
It’s easy to forget that Iran has had a 50-year nuclear program, begun by the United States in the 1960’s. At that time, the Shah of Iran realized that oil wasn’t going to last forever, and decided to take us up on our Atoms for Peace program. Just like the Soviets did for DPRK (North Korea) in their version of Atoms for Peace. Just like we did for Pakistan.

    <aside class="vestpocket" data-position="4" style=""> [IMG]
    </aside>
The U.S.-supplied 5 MW research reactor in Tehran came online in 1967, providing research and training for what was always supposed to become a robust nuclear energy program. But it turned in a nasty direction after the revolution.

In 1974, the Germans started building a commercial light water power reactor for Iran at Bushehr, but these were abandoned (but not forgotten!) after the 1979 revolution that deposed the Shah.

The new theocracy started shopping around globally for nuclear infrastructure and the beginnings of a weapons program, not the least because of the chemical weapons assaults against them from our old friend Saddam during the 1980s. (The Shah himself also explored a weapons program but the U.S. shut that down).

It was the infamous A.Q. Khan who, after setting up Pakistan’s nuclear weapons program, was selling nuclear weapons know-how to rogues like Kim Il-sung and the Ayatollahs, right under the noses of those in the West who trained him. Khan supplied Iran with centrifuge technologies and probably weapons designs.

When we discovered how bad we’d messed up, we knew we were in for a long era of trouble. There’s no putting this genie back in thebottle. We have to figure out how to live with it and encourage a different global paradigm than just “keep these things away from the crazies”.

We are deep in the struggle to attain that new meme. It goes along with the whole achieve world peace and end global poverty kind of future. It will be a deeply disturbing future if we do not accomplish these things.

Iran linked up with Russia in the mid-1990s. After initial dialogue, the Clinton Administration convinced Russia not to supply Iran with centrifuges and weapons technology, but instead to focus on a deal to resurrect the Bushehr civilian nuclear power project and build a 1000 MWe V-446 reactor retrofitted to the old German structures. This project actually went forward pretty transparently and concluded in the operating energy reactor of today.
However, in secret, Iran scaled up its enrichment program and other nuclear facilities including the major sites at Natanz and Kalaye, and potential weapons sites at Parchin and Lavizan-Shian.

Iran also developed the infrastructure to go all the way from uranium ore to highly-enriched uranium, way beyond what is needed for a nuclear energy program alone, although they have apparently not gone past 20% U-235 even now, not enough for a dependable device. Still, there was no doubt that Iran was pursuing weapons.

Nuclear facilities in Iran are a combination of weapons and energy. (After International Institute of Strategic Studies IISS Welcome)

Iran also began building an actual weapons reactor, a 40 MW heavy water reactor at Arak, that would take natural uranium, and produce plutonium. Its operational status is unknown at present, but appears mostly complete with obvious Russian-designed fuel elements. It is supposedly for medical isotopes, which is probably true, but will also produce enough Pu for about one bomb per year.

Since there appears to be no facility to reprocess Arak’s potential fuel to recover the plutonium, the choice to go the uranium route to a bomb seems to have won out, which is consistent with their extensive enrichment program. You don’t need to enrich U much for either a Pu-weapon or fuel for a power reactor.

These secret nuclear facilities were revealed around Y2K, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) began investigating in earnest. After a few years, Iran “temporarily” suspended enrichment and began a cat & mouse game. No one was fooled then. No one is fooled now.
In 2006, Iran resumed enrichment activities, continued bogus dialogues, the IAEA was not able to declare that Iran had no weapons program, so the U.N. Security Council began issuing resolutions, that eventually culminated in sanctions.

When a second secret enrichment facility was discovered at Qum in 2009, pressure mounted and sanctions became fairly punishing.
Moving along in parallel with all this weapons stuff was the old Bushehr power reactor. With Russia’s Atomstroyexport as contractor, the reactor came on-line in 2010. It was connected to grid in 2011, and just six weeks ago Bushehr went to full capacity, firmly establishing Iran as the first commercial nuclear power producer in the Middle East. Israel has nuclear weapons, but only Iran has nuclear power.

Bushehr is likely to produce over 8 billion kWhrs of electricity each year, replacing quite a bit of natural gas capacity, and allowing that much more natural gas to be exported at a profit. Atomstroyexport plans to build more reactors in Iran in the future.

Why can’t they just be happy with that?

Probably because no one gets respect like those who have the bomb. And those who stop reaching for it tend to get killed. Just ask Saddam and Muammar. On the other, once you start down that path, the end can become dicey pretty fast.

I don’t intend for this quick review to be complete at all, but to illustrate that history matters and that a choice to produce weapons is clear and separate from a choice to produce energy. The United Arab Emirates is also building nuclear power reactors, four Korean light water rectors, in full transparency and with full support from the international community.

Abu Dhabi knows they don’t need to enrich for themselves and don’t need other nuclear infrastructure to have nuclear energy. They, too, seek to offset natural gas use, and sell both gas and nuclear energy at a nice profit. Their choice will bring them a much better profit than Iran’s.

Jordan recently discovered about 70,000 tons of deposits from which U can be recovered for a tidy profit without starting a weapons program.
A nuclear energy race in the Middle East is fine. A nuclear arms race is horrible. They are easily distinguished from each other and the region can still steer towards an energy-only nuclear future, something that is essential given the tumultuous collapse of the old regimes and the emergence of new governments across the region (The Middle Class, Energy And Terrorism).
How we handle Iran is crucial to which of these futures comes to pass.

Caution and reasoned action, with a full understanding of the history of the region, is the only way to proceed. I am confident that election year rhetoric will not prevent this.

U.S., Israel Start Joint Military Drill Amid Iran Tensions

    By Calev Ben-David on October 21, 2012

The U.S. and Israel began their biggest joint air and missile defense exercise today amid rising tensions with Iran and as American presidential candidates prepare for a foreign-policy debate that is likely to focus on the region.
“Austere Challenge 12 is the largest aerial defense exercise to take place between the two militaries,” the Israeli army said overnight in an e-mailed statement. The U.K. and Germany will also participate in the three-week drill, involving as many as 3,500 U.S. personnel in the region along with 1,000 members of the Israel Defense Forces, according to the Pentagon.
Although the Israeli military said that “planning for the exercise began over two years ago and is not a response to specific events in the region,” it takes place amid growing concerns over Iran’s nuclear program. Israeli leaders accuse Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons and have said that all options, including a military strike, are justified to counter what they describe as an existential threat.
Iranian officials say their nuclear program is intended only for civilian purposes and that they will retaliate to any Israeli military action.
President Barack Obama’s administration has openly disagreed with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over Iran’s progress toward the capability to produce a nuclear weapon and the timing of any military strikes to stop a program.
    ‘Own Decisions’

“Israel has to make its own decisions how to protect its national security, and it will choose to do what it chooses to do,” said Michele Flournoy, former undersecretary of defense in the Obama administration, in an interview today on Israel’s Army Radio. Israel should take into account its historic security partnership with the U.S., Flournoy said, adding that she hopes neither country will feel it has to act unilaterally on the issue.
The U.S.-Israel exercise starts a day before the third and final debate between Obama and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in Boca Raton, Florida, which will focus on foreign policy issues. Romney accused Obama of wanting to “put daylight” between the U.S. and Israel in their previous debate on Oct. 16.
“It is never helpful to the U.S.-Israel relationship when the relationship becomes a subject of discussion in either of our election campaigns,” Flournoy told Army Radio. Israeli elections are scheduled for Jan. 22.
Austere Challenge 12, which was postponed from earlier this year, follows a U.S.-led exercise completed last month that involved more than 30 nations in the largest mine-clearing demonstration in the Middle East. Iranian officials have periodically threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz, through which about 20 percent of the world’s oil is shipped daily.

U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak greet Israeli soldiers after a joint news conference during a visit to the Iron Dome defense system launch site in Ashkelon August 1, 2012. Reuters

The United States and Israel are due to hold the Austere Challenge-12 military exercise (AC12), which is expected to begin toward the end of October and last about three weeks, with 3,500 US troops and 1,000 Israeli forces taking part.

The war games will train troops in interacting in antimissile and anti-aircraft defenses, and also boost coordination of action by Israeli and US Army servicemen.

According to an Israeli defense news magazine, this war game is considered as the largest exercise in the history of the longstanding military relationship between the US and Israel.

For his part, third Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Craig Franklin told reporters in a teleconference that this exercise will improve the cooperative missile defense of Israel and will promote regional stability and help ensure a military edge.

Citing foreign military experts that the drill highlights US-Israeli cooperation, it was planned to simulate missiles being fired at Israel from Iran and Syria simultaneously, with potentially dozens, if not hundreds, of rockets midair at the same time.

Furthermore, Israeli Brigadier General Nitzan Nuriel said that both troops will train on US Patriot missile batteries and an AEGIS ballistic missile defense ship, along with the Israel’s Iron Dom missile defense system which was designed to counter incoming rockets at a range of four to 70 kilometers. Israel will deploy its upgraded Arrow 2 anti-ballistic missile batteries for the first time.

"Anybody can get any type of message he wants from this exercise. The fact we are practicing together and working together is a strong message by itself," Brig. Gen. Nitzan Nuriel stressed.

Separately, the Israeli army held wide-range maneuvers in Negev Desert to train the Israeli soldiers in case a war would break out with Syria and Hezbollah.

The maneuvers test the readiness of the Israeli army on both fronts, the Syrian and Iranian, a military spokeswoman said.

Israeli military also held maneuvers in the Golan Heights that came along with the deep dispute in Syria, she added.

Meanwhile, Iranian air defense commander Brig. Gen. Farzad Esmaili has said that Iran will hold a massive air defense drill in October incorporating aerial and ground forces.

According to Press TV, the maneuver will include all of the Iranian army’s air defense systems, as well as Iranian air force fighter jets, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Two weeks ago, Ali al-Jafari, commander of the Revolutionary Guard Corps, said "Nothing of Israel would be left, if Iran was hit."

    Opinion:

Although these exercises were decided and planned long time ago, but being carried out at this particular time is considered as a threatening message to Iran, especially in that Iran is still defying the international community by continuing its nuclear program, which Iran describes as "a peaceful program" while America and the West suspect it is military.

At the same time the US-Israeli military exercises will be held, there will also be Iranian training and weapons demo. Thus Iran wants to address the same message to Israel and America that Tehran, despite the economic sanctions, is still ready for the war if they want.

During the past few days, the Israeli air defense witnessed big failure when Tehran was able to send a drone, through Hezbollah, that flew over Israel for half an hour. It carried the message from Tehran, I doubt that Israel has understood it, which is, "We can reach you easily and at any time."

As for the United States, it is in need for these maneuvers to win the Jewish vote in the upcoming elections. Although the United States is a superpower and it does not need to train its army with any other army in the world, the Jewish influence imposes on every inhabitant of the White House to have the security of Israel as a priority for his administration.

I think that neither America nor Israel, despite the warnings of Leon Panetta, pledged to go to any lengths to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

Israel's threat to bomb Iran's nuclear sites is not serious, as no one will be able to fight Tehran because they know very well that the consequences of a military strike against Tehran cannot be predicted.

How sad it is, that billions of dollars are spent on wars and war tools at the time where millions die from hunger and thirst. Is this is the message of humanity? Why isn't the world clean and free of all mass of destruction weapons? We want to live in peace. Is this a difficult demand? Or is it the greed and lack of human consciousness that makes it difficult?

“Following the infiltration of Hezbollah’s drone into the [airspace of the] occupied lands, the Zionist regime came to the understanding that such psychological warfare has not yielded any result but instead led to the strengthening of the determination of its enemies and now the Islamic Revolution has the upper hand over the Zionist regime."

    Related Interviews:

A senior Iranian military commander says Hezbollah’s recent success in flying an Iranian-made drone over Israel has given Tehran the upper hand against Tel Aviv.

Israel had been engaged in a campaign of psychological warfare and a game of political bluff against the Islamic Revolution, Deputy Commander of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami said Thursday.

“Following the infiltration of Hezbollah’s drone into the [airspace of the] occupied lands, the Zionist regime came to the understanding that such psychological warfare has not yielded any result but instead led to the strengthening of the determination of its enemies and now the Islamic Revolution has the upper hand over the Zionist regime,” he added.

He said the Tel Aviv regime was feeble at the depth of its defense strategy and stressed “the regime’s defense mechanisms are highly vulnerable to all-out strikes by Iran.”
The top commander said that Iran was more prepared than any time in terms of military equipment and infrastructures and stressed that a strike against the Islamic Republic would speed up the Israeli regime’s annihilation.

Hezbollah recently sent a radar-evading drone deep into the Israeli airspace.

The operation code-named Hussein Ayub saw Hezbollah’s drone fly hundreds of kilometers into the Israeli airspace and getting very close to Dimona nuclear plant without being detected by advanced Israeli and US radars, Hezbollah Secretary General Nasrallah said during a televised speech last Thursday.

On Sunday, Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi confirmed that the radar-evading drone had been developed by Iran.

“Given the Zionist regime’s frequent incursions into the Lebanese airspace, we see it as the natural right of Lebanon’s Hezbollah to fly its drone above the Occupied Territories,” he added.
