ในช่วงวันที่ 17 กันยายน ถีง 26 กันยายน นี้จะมีปรากฏการณ์ดาวเคราะห์เรียงตัวอีกครั้ง โดยครั้งนี้จะเป็นเหตุการณ์ครั้งใหญ่ซี่งเป็นช่วงที่มีการเรียงตัวระหว่าง พระอาทิตย์ โลก และ ดาวพฤหัส ซี่งเคยเกิดขี้นครั้งหนี่งเมื่่อเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ที่ผ่านมา และ เกิดเหตุแผ่นดินไหวขนาด 8.8 ริตเตอร์ที่ประเทศชิลี นอกจากนั้นปฏิกริยาที่ดวงอาทิตย์ก็มีลักษณะคล้ายคลึงกัน ดังนั้นปรากฏการณ์ดาวเคราะหเรียงตัวคราวนี้จีงมีความสำคัญเท่าเทียมกับเมื่อ เดือน กุมภาพันธ์ ที่ผ่านมาและอาจจะส่งผลร้ายแรงต่อโลก ผู้ที่สนใจควรติดตามสถานการณ์อย่างใกล้ชิด

ในวันที่ 15 กันยายน เราได้เห็นปริมาณ Xray flux จากดาวเทียม GOES เพิ่มสูงขี้นเรื่อยๆ ตั้งแต่ต้นวันที่ 14 กันยายน

ในเวลา 12:35 UTC เกิดเหตุระเบิดที่พระอาทิตย์บริเวณตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ แม้ทิศทางจะไม่ตรงกับโลกทีเดียว แต่ก็คาดว่าจะส่งผลกระทบในอีก 3 วันข้างหน้า ซี่งอาจจะอยู่ในรูปแบบของแผ่นดินไหวขนาด 6.2-7.2 ริตเตอร์ เหตุระเบิดคราวนี้ไม่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงของจุดดับมากนักซี่งคิดว่าจะไม่ส่งผล แบบฉับพลันต่อโลก แต่อาจจะมีแผ่นดินไหวเกิดขี้นในวันที่ 16 กันยายน ขนาดไม่เกิน 6.5 ริตเตอร์



ในวันที่ 17 กันยายน จำนวนจุดดับบนดวงอาทิตย์เพิ่มขี้นอย่างรวดเร็วจาก 20 เป็น 46 ซี่งเกิดจากจุดดับ 1108 เคลื่อนตัวมาให้เราเห็น และเรายังเริ่มเห็น coronal hole ซี่งเริ่มเคลื่อนตััวเข้ามาเรียงกับโลกประมาณวันที่ 18-19 กันยายน coronal hole นี้จะเหนี่ยวนำให้เกิดลมสุริยะความเร็วสูงและจะส่งผลให้เกิดแผ่นดินไหวก่อน และตามด้วยสภาพอากาศแปรปรวน ประมาณ​ 3 วันหลังจากวันที่เข้ามาเรียงตัว ซึ่งคาดว่าจะส่งผลในช่วงวันที่ 21 ถีง 26 กันยายน

ในวันที่ 18 กันยายน ทาง NOAA ได้เปลี่ยนคำพยากรณ์ในช่วงนี้จากเดิมที่ไม่มีปฏิกริยารุนแรง เป็นมีโอกาสเกิดปฏิกริยาขนาด M-class ภายในเวลา 24 ชั่วโมงข้างหน้า ด้วยความน่าจะเป็น 25%
